There are millions of devices already deployed in cities across the country and around the world. With billions more coming, those devices have a significant impact on the delivery of a range of services including safety and security. These connected cities are smarter because the collection of data like traffic, weather, energy, and water usage allow them to be more effective and efficient in the delivery of public services. The growth of smart/safe/connected cities offers a reality that we only dreamed about a few years ago -- but this revolution needs to be focused and led. In this session there will be a discussion of how to form a smart/safe/connected city strike force to create a positive business environment and mitigate public safety threats. Panelists will also examine some of the technology developments supporting the revolution including: 5G, AI and LIDAR.

Learning Objectives:
1. Understand the national and international trends in smart/safe/connected cities.
2. Learn about ways to strategically lead and manage the smart/safe/connected city revolution.
3. Understand the new technologies powering smart/safe/connected cities.
