A Next Level of Awareness: LiDAR Applications for Security

This session will explore different use cases for new technology, and LiDAR (light detection and ranging) sensors, specifically, within the security sector. While LiDAR has been widely recognized for its groundbreaking potential to enable self-driving vehicles, LiDAR can serve as “eyes” for a huge variety of machines – including drones, roadside sensors, and security systems. LiDAR security systems utilize AI software to classify and track intruders– using features like unique surface profile curvature to distinguish between humans, animals, and objects and inform the response of security professionals.
