It’s time to look beyond traditional access control systems. In today’s connected security world, wireless doors are meant to fix several design and environmental issues that have previously plagued physical access control systems. And when we have alternative solutions to wiring, we’re adding security to more doors and more applications quickly, easily, and affordably. Without worrying about cumbersome wired systems (and the complex site surveys that come with installation), we can focus on adding security where it was impossible until now, monitoring door statuses in real-time, and managing traffic based on threat levels — you know, the important stuff. In this session, we’ll debate about the highlights and shortcomings of a traditional physical access control system versus a wireless access solution, the latest wireless security technology and the best practices to implement.

Learning Objectives:
1. Examine the highlights and shortcomings of a traditional and wireless physical access control system.
2. Analyze the advancements in security technology as it relates to wireless locks and communication hubs.
3. Apply the best practices in wireless lock technology to current physical access control systems for more secure, safe, and convenient access.
