Protecting people, assets and operations are the core objectives for physical security practitioners. Perhaps the most important factors on achieving this are timeliness of responding to events – or even preventing them in the first place. Intelligence, an area that incorporates a variety of subdomains from artificial intelligence to machine learning and contextual analysis, is rapidly becoming the focus to address similar objectives and constraints in the realm of IT Security. While early, many vendors and customers are already seeing significant benefits while also being able to address latent challenges that otherwise would not be possible. While physical security is somewhat behind in its interest and adoption of intelligence for security, D6 Research is forecasting rapid rise in 2019. This session will draw from D6 Research’s recent research study and gather experts with backgrounds in engineering and adoption next generation intelligence for physical security to focus a panel discussion and speak about their journey and experiences.

Learning Objectives:
1. Demonstrate an understanding of the key fundamentals of intelligence, its sub-domains and differences between traditional reporting.
2. Communicate with colleagues how intelligence can be applied across different physical security systems and practices.
3. Convince executive stakeholders with insight into how intelligence can be a transformational tool complete with realistic limitations and projections for maturity.
