“Artificial Intelligence” (AI) and “Machine Learning” (ML) are two of the hottest buzzwords of the day -- along with “deep learning”, “predictive analytics”, and “big data.” Many security systems purport to use these technologies (and many do!); however, there’s also a lot of hyperbole and hype that makes it hard to separate the signal from the noise. In this talk Dr. Travis Deyle, a world-renowned robotics expert, will give a no-nonsense description of these tools -- to help make them more approachable and understandable so that security practitioners can learn how to leverage them into their own unique security programs. Mr. Deyle will discuss his own experience in working across a variety of intelligence methods and applying them to robotics to solve long-standing challenges in Physical Security.

Learning Objectives:
1. Differentiate and distinguish between the types of intelligence.
2. Learn how to sort through the “buzz” and analyze which tools can be applied in your organization, return on investment and technical advantages.
3. Implementation example using robotics to address challenges in physical security.
