April 11, 2018, 3:45 PM - 4:45 PM

Sands 201 Level 1

Drones (UAVs) have been in use for many years, but have not been widely adopted by the mass market until recently. With adoption comes many new and productive applications of drones, but new potential threats also exist in a wide variety of areas. Because of the disruption and potentially disastrous consequences posed by drone use of this type there has been a recent upsurge in technological development that can be used to mitigate done threats, not all of it FAA approved to-date. This session will cover practical methods of testing counter drone technologies as well as the regulatory constraints around the use of counter drone technology for both government and private facilities.

Learning Outcomes:
1. Describe the limitations and capabilities of each detection, ID and response technologies
2. Define a test plan for the evaluation of a new technology in their particular environment
3. Describe the current regulatory constraints on the use of counter drone technology
