Urban Shield Boston is a continuous 24-hour exercise, during which first responders are deployed to and rotated through various training scenarios. Urban Shield 2014 was the largest exercise ever conducted in Boston, involving over 600 emergency responders from 50 agencies. The goal of Urban Shield is to test and evaluate specific public safety capabilities that have been developed, or enhanced, with the investment of funds received from the Department of Homeland Security through the UASI grant program and supports the regional objectives in Goal 1: NIMS. Session presenters will review the planning, execution and lessons learned from this massive undertaking with a focus on security technologies and how they are applicable to inter-agency information sharing.

Learning Outcomes:
1. Assess the ability of your public safety personnel to successfully respond to and manage, multiple public safety threats and emergencies occurring simultaneously.
2. Discuss the importance and increasing role of inter-agency information sharing during incident response.
3. Examine how innovations in security technology are being applied in large scale public spaces.
