Making your analog surveillance cameras go further with video encoders
Presented by James Whitcomb, Chief Technology Officer, Video Insight
This session will cover the advantages of using video encoders with your existing analog cameras to improve your current video surveillance environment. Specific topics will include
- Using video encoders to obtain better images from your analog cameras
- Extending the life of your analog cameras with off the shelf software
- Replacing existing, poorly functioning Digital Video Recorders with a software solution
- How to centralize and reduce costs for your video surveillance systems by using off the shelf servers
- How to begin the migration to IP video surveillance with minimal costs
- Advantages of IP video surveillance over analog
- Features to look for in IP video surveillance systems
New Era of Ease of Use in IP
Milestone Systems
Milestone is the world’s leading provider of open platform IP video surveillance software. XProtect is designed with open architecture allowing for integration with the widest choice of network video and computer hardware. XProtect products interface with more than 840 IP cameras, encoders and DVRs from over 80 manufacturers. The open platform optimizes your security installation with best-of-breed solutions. And by integrating IP video with multiple security systems and video analytics, you increase possibilities and efficiency. As IP grows in popularity we are starting to see the push back on the ease of use. While Milestone has had a long-standing reputation for a robust platform with an easy to use GUI and management system for the customer today we have released our most powerful and easy to manage platforms yet. The leading open platform provider in the market has made things even better with XProtect Corporate 3.1, XProtect Enterprise 7.0, Smart Wall & Smart Client 5.0. This presentation will help everyone understand the difference between a true open platform and someone just claiming to be open while educating you on the product line of Milestone Systems.
HiRes Video Innovations
Mobotix
The Decentralized MOBOTIX Concept
Unlike other systems, the decentralized MOBOTIX concept incorporates a high-speed computer and, if necessary, a digital memory (SD card) for long-term recording in every camera. The PC is now used only for viewing, not for analysis or recording. As a result, MOBOTIX cameras can record events even without a running PC and digitally record videos with sound for archiving purposes.
The Benefits
MOBOTIX video solutions therefore require significantly:
- fewer cameras due to the more accurate detail of wide-angle images with megapixel technology,
- fewer PCs/DVRs, because around 40 cameras can store high-resolution video with sound efficiently on a single PC, or no PC at all when recording on the camera's digital storage (USB, SD card),
- lower network bandwidth, because everything is processed in the camera itself and the high-resolution images therefore do not have to be constantly transferred for analysis.
Pulse Code – A Revolution in Access Control from Master Lock
One Prospect
PulseCode™ is a revolutionary security solution that requires no direct contact between the lock and key to operate. PulseCode provides you an audit trail when needed. Because there is no keyhole there is no point from which it can be compromised by picking or tampering. PulseCode technology is the transmission of encrypted data through solid materials by a sequence of discrete mechanical knocks, or pulses. The intervals between pulses contain an 23 digit encrypted code that communicates with the lock. PulseCode technology enables the lock to be mounted on the inside of a door, concealing it from the outside and making it impossible to vandalize or even detect. PulseCode provides you an audit trail so you know who entered and when. PulseCode offer uses for almost every industry. Come see how it can change your view of access control.
Protecting Critical Infrastructure: Data Centers
Anixter
Correctly deploying and installing the latest technologies is essential when protecting your data center. Learn about securing your data center – from the perimeter down to the cabinet level - with the latest communications and security technologies from fiber cabling and wireless mesh technologies to access control and video surveillance.
Securing the sensitive equipment and infrastructure stored in the data center is a challenge in itself. A tiered approach to protection, along with new technologies—such as cabinet-level locking systems—and integrated applications are ways to address these challenges. Having your security systems run over an IP network allows for easier integration and the flexibility to migrate and evolve with the changing business needs and technology requirements of the data center.
This presentation will cover recent trends in IP-based access control as well as next generation technologies that will allow you to protect the nerve center of your organization – the data center.
