Exhibitors and Attendees Agree: ISC West 2017 is a Major Success

April 06, 2017

LAS VEGAS, NV – April 6, 2017 – Following a very well-attended Day 1 at ISC West, attendees returned in droves on Day 2 to pick up where they left off on their search for new exhibitors, products, technologies and valuable information that they crave regarding the future of the security industry. Continuing yesterday’s attendance trend, the Show Floor aisles and exhibitor booths remained busy and bustled until the end of the day.

The many demos and conversations taking place at ISC West have proven valuable for attendees and exhibitors alike. Attendees are walking away with a stronger understanding of the wealth of innovative products and technologies, while exhibitors were able to gain insight into the wants and needs of both security professionals and end users – information that will prove valuable as they plan product updates and developments for the future.

Exhibitor feedback on this year’s ISC West has also been tremendously positive, with many citing the large attendance numbers and steady inflow of buyers throughout the first two days of the Show.

“Over the first two days of ISC West, we’ve been very happy with the number and quality of attendees and the interest in our products and solutions. The Show has been an ideal place for us to introduce security professionals to fully integrated solutions enabled by the open platform of VideoXpert, our powerful and intuitive VMS, which supports true end-to-end control,” said Diane Feliciano, Vice President of Global Marketing, Pelco by Schneider Electric.

"The Genetec team is thrilled with ISC West 2017. The volume of attendees and the depth of the questions we are receiving have really encouraged us as we introduce our ambitious technology vision of protecting the everyday," said Andrew Elvish, VP at Genetec Inc.

The Thursday morning Security 5K Run /2K Walk, held annually on the second day of ISC West, also received positive feedback after raising more than $125,000 to support Mission 500, an organization that supports children and communities in crisis. On behalf of Mission 500 and ISC West, we would like to thank all those who have participated and supported the cause.

Thursday was the also third and final day of the SIA Education@ISC West program, which once again saw large numbers of attendees for many of its sessions. The program featured many courses covering a wide variety of security and safety aspects, including “Sailing the Sea of Video Surveillance Data: Approaches to Navigating Policy Development,” The State of Mobile Access & Identity,” and “Technology Trends Reshaping Security Organizations and How they Deliver Security in the 21st Century.”

“SIA Education@ISC West experienced another strong year as the Security Industry Association saw sustained high levels of interest in its education sessions and workshops, with many filled to capacity. In addition to our traditional offerings for manufacturers, integrators, salespeople and others, SIA expanded its courses this year with a focus on standards and other specialized topics. The response to the SIA Education conference has been uniformly positive this year, and we look forward to producing effective, responsive programming for ISC West 2018,” said Don Erickson, CEO of SIA.

In the Day 2 keynote, “How Cyber-Attacks are Changing the Expectations of Security, Privacy and Safety,” Matthew Rosenquist of Intel Security reviewed significant impacts of cyberattacks in the physical world and discussed the emerging cyber and physical challenges with security, privacy and safety. Impressing upon attendees how changing expectations in the market are creating new industry practices, Rosenquist closed the SIA Education program on a high note for 2017.

ISC West will wrap up this year’s edition tomorrow Friday, April 7th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
